NYM lost in a valiant effort against the Boston Irish Wolfhounds this last Saturday, 5-46. NYM took a much weakened squad up to Boston due to the wrangling by the NRU changing the dates of the season in mid-season. This beggars belief at the organization of the NRU and left NYM severely under-manned as many players had already scheduled other plans thinking our seaons was done on October 18th, with a makeup game against Long Island on November 8th.
NYM went to White Plains and lost another heartbreaker. Despite going down 19-0 a gut-check fightback that began in the first half and continued until 30 minutes into the second brought the scores to 22-all. Pushing for the win mistakes let White Plains back in, and with NYM trying to chase the game they made sure of the win 22-37. More to follow.
On a gorgeous day made for rugby on Randalls Island NYM built on their promising showing against White Plains two weeks ago to soundly beat Union at home. Both the A's and B's were impressive in putting them away 40-10 and 33-0 respectively.
NYM took on White Plains in the September heat on the new turf fields of Randalls Island this past Saturday. White Plains brought their usual, well-drilled game and emerged winners in the A game despite NYM stunning them early.
Eddie O'Sullivan Coaches a Joint Session with NYM and NYAC
Monday, 15 September 2008
On Tuesday September 9th the former Irish International team Head Coach put NYM through a joint session with NYAC at Pier 40. This was facilitated by the generosity of the coaches at NYAC, Mike Tolkin and Bruce McLane, and the organizational skills of Matt Persanis, former NYM player and current Iona College and METNY Collegiate All Star coach.
