Women take limited crew to Chicago and pull off rugby marathon!

A tour party of 22 left New York to return a match we owed Chicago North Shore from Spring 2006 at Kaiser Park, Coney Island. Although 22 and our Head Coach flew to Chicago, we only had twenty players available to play. The rain threatened all day, but we got lucky and the day was long for our limited squad, but enjoyable all the same...
24 players drove down to Washington DC to compete with NoVa while surrounded by tourists and the Cherry Blossoms and came away with hard fought wins...
NY lost a heartbreaker to NRU rivals Beantown 20-17 in the national semifinals on Friday (Beantown got a drop goal with literally a minute left in injury time to win it). The women then won a hard fought 3rd place match on Sunday against the Twin Cities Amazons 22-17, in the second period of overtime. Berkeley beat Beantown 25-18 to win the championship...
