Sat night NY 7s Tournament Party
Connolly's Pub & Restaurant The post tournament party will be held Saturday evening November 28th at Connolly’s Pub located in midtown Manhattan at 14 E.47th St. between Fifth & Madison Avenues. The party starts at 8:00pm and will include 2 free beer tickets per person (compliments of the New York Rugby Club) during the first hour and domestic draft specials after that. The NYRC will provide finger food, however, it is important to note that this is not intended to be sufficient for your evening meal – we suggest taking advantage of one of the many restaurants in the area for a team dinner before the party! Connolly’s serves some great pub grub and other Irish cuisine (just plan to eat there BEFORE the party starts) and for other options, you can also search for just about any restaurant in New York City by price, location, cuisine and more at http://newyork.citysearch.com/ Each team will receive twelve (12) complimentary party tickets to attend the NY 7s Tournament Party. Additional guests are welcome at a rate of $10 each. Please note that state and federal law requires us to limit admission to those 21 or older with proper I.D. Proper attire is required to be admitted to the party. Please take showers and dress appropriately. Casual attire is fine, but no sweats or soiled jerseys. You will not be allowed in if you look like you just came off the rugby pitch.
8pm $10 at the door (note - all teams will receive 12 free party tickets) (Guests of U19 teams that are over 21 and would like to attend may ask for tickets at the scoring table)
2 free beer tickets compliments of sponsor, beer specials all night Complimentary finger food Downstairs bar opens to our party at 8:30pm (more room for everyone!) Day's games to be shown on video care of Line Out Video

Wow! 111 Teams so far! That's definitely a record for the New York 7s, so we can only assume that teams enjoy our tournament and we’re doing at least one or two things right. We love being able to host teams from across town and across the Atlantic for what we hope is a great time both on the pitch and off. Without the teams, the tournament is nothing, so really, THANK YOU to all the teams that return year after year, as well as those brave NY 7s neophytes out there. That said, some people never read their emails or tournament literature and attempt to make our lives, um, complex on the day of the tournament. With that in mind, the following is offered as a guide to the New York 7s. Enjoy it, have a good laugh, keep in mind New Yorkers hate sarcasm and remember, we told you so...

Kit for Kids Donation Drive at NY 7s |

|
Kids in the Tri-State area are looking to play rugby, but cannot for lack of gear. Helping to grow the sport we love can be as simple as going through your old boots, shorts, socks, t-shirts, scrum gear and jerseys and donating kit that is clean and serviceable, but currently retired. This is the perfect way to make use of former team kit, items that are stained, but still useable, or the stuff that shrunk in your gear bag over the fall. Please bring your donation to the registration table at NY7s and help introduce rugby to a new generation. All kit will be distributed to U-19 programs in the Tri-State area. |

The Fall Preview edition of New York Magazine, dated August 31 - September 7, gives a mention to NYRC's fabulous New York Sevens Tournament. It's in the Day-to-Day Culture Planner section and lists the tournament as what to do on November 28, 2009. With a circulation around 400,000, the magazine's highlight of the NY 7s is a great opportunity to keep spreading the word to casual spectators and die-hard rugby fans alike!
