Last game of the season for the Gents! Sat. Oct 28 vs Ct Grays AWAY in Connecticut - Directions: http://www.cgrfc.org/directions.htm 11:30a kick-off...
New field for the Grays, read their directions and be on time. We have stars from New England and even Donnie Warner all confirming already. Be part of the in-crowd. Besides, the Grays are a lotta fun, we beat them in a half at the Ruckin Regatta and they always have a great spread at their home bar. Last game was a good one. We were tied 26-26 after two 25 minute periods but then the Lions turned it on and scored two more tries and a penalty kick. It should be noted that Bob Meyer showed up and played rugby in his 70th year on the planet, Nick Silitch propped and claims he back for good, T-bone showed that despite playing at the second row he thinks he's a center at heart, while Drew Fautly showed that somewhere along the line he actually learned to kick, quite well actually and Joe Pash showed that while the Golden Oldies is a lotta fun, bending over is still an essential part of playing scrumhalf. This has been really a great season for the Gents, great turnouts, great games and great wins. Thanks to all for making it happen. Let's finish up strong. Also, New York 7's needs old boys teams, a few are committed, Pat O'Callahan is running the Gents side but more teams are needed. New jersies are supposed to be here for this game. Clean even. A political note. Manhattan RFC was founded by a small group of players back in the 1960's, one of those colorful characters was a guy named Malachy McCourt, the club's first president. Today, that same guy is running, or standing as he says, for Governor of New York on the Green Party. Let's face it, he doesn't have a chance in hell but if every rugby player in New York voted for Malachy, well that might give him a nice little bump in the exit polls. So have some fun with your vote and cast a vote for an ex-rugger, Malachy McCourt, your green party candidate. http://www.votemalachymccourt.org/ He'll be back to writing books soon, unless... Back to rugby, RSVP now. See you Saturday in Connecticut. Cheers, David Martin oldboyprop@secondrowproductions.com cell - 646-483-5898 days 718-596-3985 |
