  1. All matches will kick off at the time scheduled on the draw, or at the completion of the previous match, whichever is later.
    • Teams that are not ready to play at their appointed time and place will lose the match by default.
    • It is the responsibility of the team captain to be aware of the time and place of the matches in which his or her team is to participate.
    • Please use the area south of the playing fields for all warm up activities.
  2. All teams must provide their own competent touch judge.
  3. All teams should have a complete set of matching rugby uniforms (no tee-shirts).
    • Please have an alternate kit available in the event there is a color clash between sides.
  4. If a referee orders a player off the field-of-play during a match for any reason, he or she may not participate further in the tournament.
    • An appeals committee consisting of the tournament director and the head referee will handle any disputes during the tournament and this decision will be final.

    • Please note the following specifications for the Big Apple Classics:
      • There is no limit to the number of players a team can register
      • Up to 7 substitutions are permitted per match
      • Each match in pool play will consist of 15 minute halves with a five minute interval between each half. Collegiate matches will increase in length to 20 and 25 minutes through semis and finals. U19 matches will remain at 15 minute halves throughout, and coaches will be responsible for ensuring that no individual U-19 player plays more than 90 minutes total, per IRB regulations.
    • Tie-breakers
      • Tie matches will stand in pool-play.
      • Tie matches in elimination play will be decided by a succession of ten-minute sudden death overtime periods, played without intervals, until the referee declares a winner.
    • We will rank teams in each pool after pool play as follows: Best record, Head-to-head competition, Most points scored, Best point differential, Number of tries, Coin toss.
  6. The team captain must register all players who will play on his/her team throughout the tournament.
    • Only players previously designated at registration time may be used as replacements. However, where a team suffers injuries during the course of the tournament, the Tournament Director, in consultation with the Match referee, may permit replacement players from other teams in the interests of the tournament continuing.
  7. Any inappropriate behavior on or off the field by any individual or team will be reported to the individual/team's local union and will result in banishment from the Tournament in the future.
