Sanford, FL - The NY Women bested NRU rivals Beantown 27-5 in the semifinals but fell short to the Berkeley All Blues 17-25 in the championship final. Two quick tries by Berkeley in the first 6 minutes of the game caught NY off guard, and one first half try by flanker Phaidra Knight were the only points NY had to show for a lot of work in Berkeley's end. However, the team took a halftime score of 25-5 and came back charging hard with a pair of tries from wings Vanesha McGee and Jenna Flateman in the second half to start closing the gap, but weren't able to make up the difference before time ran out. CONGRATULATIONS to the ladies of the New York Rugby Club on a courageous weekend, and the title of #2 in the USA...
