On Friends and Family day the Gents of NY will take on the Village Lion Kings. We have joined forces twice this season, and this will be our first head to head contest...
Gents, Saturday is our Friends and Family Day at Randalls Island. So we are playing the Village Lions at 11:30 SHARP. We must be off the field by 1230 so we have one hour to play. Be at the field by 10:30a so we can start on time and get a good game in. BE THERE ON TIME. No BS. If we start late we play less. This is because there are games going off all day and we need to get off the field. We are at Randalls Island, field 75. So, against the Greys. The final score was 48-40 and we almost had them. We had a good turnout but their scrummaging made a difference as they beat us in the scrums. We played hard and kept the game close and actually tied it up in the fourth 20 minute period. A good try right after our last try by Connecticut put them ahead and then a cheap try quickly thereafter put the game away and despite our hard efforts, that made the difference as time and energy gave out. Cheers go out to Jarl Ginsberg, our fullback who heard the word you never want to hear, rupture and so we will be out for the rest of the season. No jokes please. In club news, we have completed the merger between the two clubs NY and Manhattan and as a result the club logo will change slightly and we are trying to make the club about more than just one or two teams. Give the newsletter a read. You will see you are part of something more than just a four game a season group. See you all on Saturday. I am still adjusting his email list so feel free to pass it on to other players. i need to fix this better. please confirm. we are home one game this weekend. Next up, the traveling Poltroons. May 16 at Randalls. |
