The New York Rugby Club is committed to promoting quality high school and college rugby in the Metropolitan NY Area and beyond, and are offering a day long Rugby Clinic which features . . .
- Elite coaching staff: We are in the process of building our staff from coaches with national and territorial level coaching and playing experience. Our head clinic coach is currently in the USA Rugby Advanced Coaching Certification program (IRB level 3 equivalent), former USA Eagle, former captain and current assistant coach for NRU, and former captain of a National Championship club team. Many other coaches will have similar experience.
- Unique programming: Rather than a day full of closed drills followed by one scrimmage, this rugby day will be different than many other clinics. We will offer a situation-based learning scenarios, with a lot of games, and live-play opportunities. One of the objectives is for all players' learning and improvements to be immediately transferable to a game scenario.
If your team has a specific area of need, please email us early on, and we will do our best to incorporate these areas into the programming. - Positional expertise and hours of hands on/personal learning: We have national level expertise across all positions within our club, and are very interested in passing it along to high school and college rugby enthusiasts, both on the day, and as mentors for the future.
It will be an amazing rugby opportunity for any HS/U19 or Collegiate rugby playing men and women. Individual players may register as well as whole teams. Coaches are also welcome and encouraged to attend and observe. REGISTRATION DETAILS HERE. Any questions about the on-field coaching aspects of the clinic can be directed to Annie Collier at annie.collier@gmail.com. Registration information and logistics questions can go to bac@newyorkrugby.com. |
