The NRU Championships were held up at Mystic River's grounds pine Banks in Malden MA this weekend with NYRC looking to go one better than last year and secure a home playoff for the D1 CR4 playoff with MARFU. On the first day NYRC though against NERFU #1 Mystic River the guys never got going in the first half and were 50-0 down early in the second. They eventually found their pattern and started fighting back adding 24 points of their own to close out the match. Though the 50-24 loss was not heartening.

Second day 3rd/4th place playoffs after the jump... 

The second day saw NYRC taking on Monmouth, who had lost to NERFU #2 Boston irish Wolfhounds. NYRC were fired up after losing to Monmouth during the regular season. Like last year when they made amends by beating Long Island at the same stage they controlled the match vs Monmouth. NYRC got tries 2 tries each from center Ben Rose and No. 8 Paddy Holman. Fullback Matt Venzin hit all the conversions plus a penalty.
